The NW Animation Festival Showcase at OMSI needs volunteers. The "The NW Animation Festival Showcase" will be held on January 14-15 from 10 am - 4 pm. OMSI will be showing films produced by local animators throughout the day. For more information check out OMSI's special events website. Volunteers are needed to staff the doors, check hand stamps, and count the number of people entering with a clicker. There are two volunteer shifts available, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm and 12:30 - 4 pm. Volunteers will receive museum admission for the day, including admission to the event during the hours they are not volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. OMSI needs volunteers to help with Space Day! On Saturday, July 17th, OMSI will celebrate Space and Space Exploration! We'll commemorate the 35th anniversary of the moon landing with special activities, displays and demonstrations. Visitors can test a "Human Gyroscope," which spins three different directions at once and is used in training Air Force pilots and astronauts; race a remote-controlled Mars Rover; explore a Gemini capsule; study meteorites and moon rocks; and much more! Volunteers will help supervise activities and take tickets. Volunteers are needed to help with many activities for three shifts: 9 am - 1 pm, 12 pm - 4 pm, and 3 pm - 7 pm. All Space Day volunteers must be at least 14 years old and will receive museum admission for the day.
